It is a myth that the gem should touch the body. However, the setting should be such that the light can pass through the stone into the body.
Gem medication is therapy using the color and rays of the gem. When one wears the gem according to the appropriate day and time, the gem passes the appropriate rays of color into the body.
Some showrooms in India offer a “Testing Period” for gems. The period is usually for 3 days and requires a deposit. Thus, a gem can be checked for suitability before the final purchase.
Generally, a gem should weigh 1 ratti for each 10 kilogram of body weight, and not weigh less than 3 ratti. In India a Kachchi ratti equals 121 mg and a Pakki ratti equals 180 mg.
Nine-Jewels are costly. It is practical to use the Sub-Gems. However, a Sub-Gem should be one and a half to double the size of a Nine-Jewel to have the same effectiveness.
It is necessary to have faith to ensure effectiveness of gem therapy.
A gem may be tested by sewing it in a white cloth and tying it to the right arm as an amulet, removing for bathing. While sleeping, it may be put under the pillow. Gems should not be tested by rubbing, scratching, acid, etc. If the authenticity of a gem is doubted, do not buy it.
